

About Dr. Annabelle Frazier

Annabelle Frazier, Ph.D., LPC-S is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and assistant professor of criminal justice at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her private practice, Emerge Calm, serves helping professionals navigating burnout, trauma, and high-stakes systems work.
Background Summary
Dr. Frazier holds an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology & Prevention Science, with graduate certificates in Forensic Criminology and Advanced Counterterrorism & Homeland Security. Since 2011, she has worked in child welfare, disability services, reentry support, community mental health, and indigent defense support. Currently, she is a full-time faculty member at the University of Southern Mississippi, conducting research on decision-making science and forensic psychology, and teaching courses in criminal justice ethics, family violence, and criminal legal system policy. As part of her academic role, Dr. Frazier regularly speaks at research conferences and publishes scientific work. Most recently, she has presented work at the Southern Criminal Justice Association and American Psychology-Law Association conferences. Her scientific work has been published in journals such as Law & Human Behavior, Psychology Public Policy & Law, and the Albany Law Review.

Dr Frazier’s recent clinical training credits include a full day of trauma and forensic practice training for the Wisconsin Public Defender, a workshop on Impostor Syndrome for Lighthouse Professional Business Women’s group, and documentation and record-keeping trainings for the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselor’s Association. She has also provided training to the Massachusetts Indigent Defender and Lesley University’s clinical supervisor training series.
